This palace, built in the neo-classical European style in 1929 is a royal house of Vietnam’s last emperor Bao Dai. It is located 4 km from Dalat in the middle of a beautiful pine forest. Bao Dai bought this house from a French millionaire in 1949 and used it as his headquarters, but after he was forced to move to France in 1954, Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem took over this magnificent residence.
Inside the house there are the emperor’s coronation photos, as well as a Bao Dai figure where you can have your picture taken with for a small fee. Don’t miss a secret doorway, hidden behind a bookcase, serving as an escape route through tunnels to a helipad with a helicopter.
