Ong Temple is located in the center of Can Tho by the river. This Chinese temple was built in 1894, and it has a unique atmosphere due to the incense constantly burning in the whole area. People come here to worship Kuang Kung, a deity of loyalty, justice, reason, intelligence, honor, and courage. They pray to the Goddess of Fortune and the God of Earth.
This area of around 500 square meters used to be an assembly hall for Chinese groups from Guangzhou. Almost all building materials were taken from China, including stone, porcelain, and enamel. Many cultural and religious activities are organized in the temple, with the most famous being the lantern festival.
