Merchants have been trading at Cai Be since the 19th century, when this floating market had around 500 boats gathering in one place to sell all types of goods. These days, due to the development of land infrastructure, the majority of traders find it more profitable to sell on land.
However, there are still boats trading in the old way, and if you take a boat tour, you will enjoy a relaxing ride where you can admire the surroundings and observe the life of people living by the river. You will visit orchards where you can eat lots of fresh and delicious fruit. A lot of different types of flowers are sold during different holidays and festivals where the market looks especially attractive to the eye. Be aware that you must wake up very early to catch traders as the market opens around 4 am.
