In early 2024, I ventured out with my DJI Mini 2 to explore a village near Hanoi famous for its soy sauce. Stalls overflowing with bottles lined the streets, but I craved a glimpse beyond commerce – I wanted to see the production process itself.
Approaching a friendly vendor with my limited Vietnamese, I inquired about witnessing the actual making of the sauce. Her reply was a simple wave towards a neighboring shop and a single word: "There." Undeterred, I politely explained my desire to see the production area, but she still pointed in that direction. I then hesitantly asked the lady working at that shop, and with a knowing smile, the vendor simply opened a seemingly ordinary door in the back.
Like stepping into a hidden world, the doorway opened to a vast courtyard bustling with activity. Innumerable clay pots filled the space, and two women skillfully worked their craft. The rest, as they say, is captured in the photos.
