Phap Lam Pagoda is a Buddhist temple with a beautiful garden featuring old, well-maintained bonsai trees and intriguing Buddhist sculptures. Built in 1934, and previously known as Tinh Hoi Pagoda, now it is a center of a religious community in Da Nang and a temple frequently visited by locals (especially during holidays), who pray here, meditate or have their fortune told. You can also observe the daily life of many monks living in the temple.
The top floor of the pagoda has a golden statue of Buddha, while the ground floor hosts an auditorium that can fit up to a thousand people. There is a 1.1-meter-high seated Buddha statue, brass statues of the Goddess of Mercy, and Dai The Chi Bodhisattva.
Despite being in the city center, you will feel peace and serenity once you pass the gate. Entrance to Phap Lam Pagoda is free of charge, and you can combine this visit with a delicious lunch. Vegetarian cuisine is served by several local restaurants and food carts that cater to its resident monks and devotees.
