Located at the west side of Phu Quoc, Duong Dong is the largest town on the island with around 80 thousand citizens. It is a transportation hub with a harbor and an airport. You can find banks and hospitals here as well as many tour agencies, hotels, and restaurants.
One of the biggest attractions in the town is the Duong Dong market. Early morning, you can buy fresh seafood and produce there. Later in the day, it’s a great place to buy cheap and delicious street food.
At the harbor, you can observe fishermen at work, rent a private boat to explore smaller islands, and fish from the boat. While you are in town you should go to Dinh Cau Temple close to the harbor. Other interesting places include pepper gardens, and factories producing fish sauce.
