About this Experience
Itinerary
Let’s Get Started!
We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and head through the lively streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Your adventure kicks off as soon as you board your private transport, with our guide providing fascinating insights into Vietnam’s political history.
Liberated Area
After a 1.5-hour drive, our first stop is the Liberated Area, where you’ll glimpse the life of Viet Cong guerrilla fighters during the war’s most intense periods (1961-1972). It’s now a peaceful spot, making it hard to imagine the wartime strife. We then proceed to the Ben Duoc Tunnels.
Camouflaged Entrances and Bamboo Traps!
At Ben Duoc Tunnels, you’ll step into the historic Viet Cong base amidst a dense forest shaded by beautiful trees and bamboo. Our guide will walk you through the site, explaining the tunnels’ clever design and their historical role. You’ll see camouflaged entrances, bamboo traps, and intricate ventilation systems.
Get Hands-On with History!
Now it’s your turn to dive in! The tunnels were originally narrow to fit the small stature of Viet Cong fighters but have been slightly widened for educational purposes. Get ready for a snug and thrilling adventure as you navigate through them.
Taste Viet Cong Food and Head Back to the City
To wrap up our Cu Chi tunnel experience, you’ll learn about the hidden kitchens and try typical Viet Cong food. After a memorable morning, we’ll board our private transport and return to Ho Chi Minh City. We can drop you off at your accommodation or any downtown spot of your choice. Before saying goodbye, make sure to ask your guide for more tips on exploring the city.
