Ben Tre – Full Day Mekong Delta Tour

We depart Ho Chi Minh City for the Mekong Delta (approximately 2 hours) is an incredibly fertile region whose prime industry is food production, producing approximately half of Vietnam’s total agricultural output. Life for villages in the area revolves around the rivers and canals that make up the delta, people are more likely to transport by river than road.

Unicorn Islet visit

Upon arrival into Tien Giang province, we board our private boat for a cruise to enjoy fantastic scenery of Mekong River, stop at Unicorn Islet where we will visit a local garden and get experiences of local life from a small house and daily activities. Life in the Mekong Delta revolves much around the river, and all the villages are often accessible by river as well as by road.

Handicraft workshops

After enjoying seasonal fruits and listening to traditional music, the boat takes us to Ben Tre province which is formed from 3 different islets such as An Hoa, Minh, and Bao islet. We will stop at An Hoa islet to visit a local coconut candy family business and taste some candies – a special product in the Mekong Delta. We also have a chance to see local people weave the mat.

Then we will get on the xe loi (motor cart for around 8 km) through coconut garden Phu An Hoa, sightseeing local people’s daily activities along village paths to Vuon Dau for lunch with Mekong delicacies.

After the special Mekong lunch, we transfer to a smaller rowing boat allowing us to get deeper into the smaller canals of the delta to get back to our big boat. The motor boat moves slowly along the river banks with floating fish farms then returns to My Tho for the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.
