The Imperial Tomb of Minh Mang

The tomb of Minh Mang is an area comprising of 18 acres. The tomb is at the centre with a symmetrical axis of roads leading to different areas. It was built in 1840. The area is a pure homage to the beauty of Chinese architecture and landscaping structures. These hold a variety of monuments and relics, including palaces, courtyards, pavilions and various statues and steles. The tomb is accessed crossing a lake of Lotus Flowers and entering the side doors of the Dai Hong Mon Gates. The central is forever closed, having only opened once for Minh Mang’s entrance to the tomb. It is around 12km southwest of Hue and is open from 08:00-18:00 daily. It can be accessed by car or riverboat. Entrance fee is 80k VND.
