I thought of this while waiting for a sudden rain to subside during a late lunch, watching the restaurant owner take a seat and scroll on his phone. There were no other customers at 2pm, and there probably wouldn't be any for the next few hours. I wonder how many customers he even had in a day, when back home, there were always customers everywhere, anytime. There is a subtle tiredness from the daily grind in the back of this man, and I both admire and sympathize with him. These are the people I silently root for, hoping life gives them a little more colour.
