Recently, I spent a couple of days in Hue (Central Vietnam), cycling around, a little off the beaten track.
One afternoon I was in a neighborhood close to an old Pagoda. My attention was caught by a tok-tok-tok sound which turned out to be a small group of young men chiseling away on pieces of wood. I had to stop and go closer. It seems each one was busy with a part of something that may get passed on to another do complete the next part. They didn't mind me hanging around for a little while to see what they are doing and take some pictures. They showed me some of the end results which were very skillfully carved in fine detail. I observed really amazing talent and patience from these youngsters. I felt honored to be allowed to witness this fine craft and share a moment in their peaceful presence.
