After a long journey, we finally made it to Meo Vac district. Once there, we checked into our charming little home stay, and made our way to the town's market for a hot cocoa and some food, where we were surprised to find we had arrived during local spring celebrations. Although still cold, the local ethnic groups celebrate the upcoming arrival of spring just after the Lunar New Year. This meant that our two days spent in Meo Vac consisted of us in awe of the locals who were all dressed up in traditional outfits. Young boys and girls dress up in their best outfits, and walk arm in arm through the streets. It was truly something special to see.
When visiting Meo Vac, check your calendar to see if you can coincide your trip with any local celebrations. Besides the natural beauty that surrounds you in that area, the local ethnic groups are truly amazing and the culture is wonderful to immerse yourself into.
I hope these photos can give you a glimpse into what life is like nestled among the mountains of Northern Vietnam!
Don't foget, stay safe and positive!
