Here is Ninh Binh, it is located in the south of Hanoi about 2-3 hours away by car or bus. I think it is a bit hidden gem according to Ha Long Bay. I have been there two months ago it was near to the rice harvest, may be just a few days before. The beautiful rice field scenery is literally like a painting and very picturesque. Our guide told us that the famous Oscar prized film “Indochina” was filmed here. You can hire boats to take a tour on the river, the entrance is free. What amazed us most was the floating photographers, they appear in a nearby passing boat next to yours asking you if you want any photos to be taken. If you agree with it, he/she starts shooting your best views while rowing by feet, not an easy action. All the boat rowers are using their feet by the way, they developed such a skill it seems. We have been to the Bich Dong pagoda where you can take fairytale pictures of you. I felt really in Vietnam with this tour, it was just like the Vietnam I had seen in the films. There’s no much to say, better to go and see.
