You just can’t visit Saigon without spending time exploring its food. I mean, one of the most fascinating parts of this country’s culture is its local dishes. The complex, dynamic and surprising ingredients coupled with the intense flavours allow delicious food to be found on every corner! And although I am an avid street-fooder, grab-and-go type of girl, I do like to dine at trendy Vietnamese restaurants every now and again.
If you’re looking for traditional and delicious Vietnamese food, without the tiny red plastic stools and motorbike congestion, I’m going to let you in on my 4 favourite restaurants serving up some of Saigon’s most delectable Vietnamese cuisine. With gorgeous exteriors and Instagram worthy interiors, it’s no wonder these incredible restaurants top my list for must eat places in Saigon.

1. Saigon Everywhereee
New to the restaurant scene, Saigon Everywhereee, is an excellent choice for that superb, locally sourced food experience. Just off the famous Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Saigon Everywhereee breathes life into its old building with a charming blue storefront. Its classic, yet sophisticated look is the perfect mix to catch any photographer’s eye!
But wait. The food. It’s no secret how much I love Vietnamese cuisine but when I’m craving that delicious home cooked meal, I am 100% headed to Saigon Everywhereee! From their delicious Bún Thịt Nướng to their mouth watering Cơm Anh Gà, I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed! Not only are they serving up local classics, but they have mastered the true art of deliciousness!
Be sure to order their extremely tasty Bánh Flan to finish off your meal. Yum!
Find them at: 73 Mac Thi Buoi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

2. Propaganda
As its name suggests, Propaganda is all things ... well ... Vietnamese propaganda. Covered in beautiful murals of historical documents and gorgeous pieces of art, its walls give you a tiny glimpse into what life may have been like back in a war torn era. And although this restaurant is not to be missed solely based on it’s interior alone, the food is sure to leave your mouth watering for more!
With a wide variety of inventive dishes, Propaganda has an amazing selection of creative spring rolls, as well as a ton of classic street foods served up with a creative twist!
Find them at: 21 Hàn Thuyên, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

3. Secret Garden
Prepare to climb up four fights of stairs through a typical Vietnamese apartment building to reach this beautiful outdoor restaurant. The journey up through the old staircase and twisted electrical wires is well worth the beautiful Saigon view that awaits. With its traditional Vietnamese decor and signature home-cooked dishes, it’s impossible not to photograph this restaurant's effortless beauty!
Find them at: 158 Pasteur, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

4. Quan Bui & Quan Bui Garden
If you’re looking to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine with that old-school Saigon vibe, then Quan Bui is a beautiful spot to stop for any meal of the day. With four eateries in Saigon it’s no wonder this restaurant is a favourite among locals and foreigners. With stunning wooden benches, vintage decor and incredible tile work, Quan Bui is a beautiful place to relax, eat and photograph.
Here, you can find a variety of dishes ranging from the North to the South of Vietnam. Their Braised pork with Coconut Meat and Sautéed Chicken with Cashew Nut are just two of their incredibly tasty dishes. With an extensive menu, like this one, there is definitely something to be loved by everyone!
Find them at: 19 Ngô Văn Năm, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City & 55A Ngô Quang Huy, Thảo Điền, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
