Danang Riverside By Night Photography Tour
An ever-changing skyline Master new photography skills while exploring the Danang riverside by night.
Capture the ever-changing skyline at sunset, cross the famous Dragon and Han bridges and explore the colorful city by the river. This tour will show you the best of Danang after dark and allow you to focus on long exposure photography (so bring a tripod along!) but also on low-light street photography.
We will focus on how to get the best photos of the colorful lights and create impactful pictures of the cityscape, but also look at how to tell a story about life here. Shoot photos of locals and tourists alike mingling at coffee shops, bars and small street stalls in the evening, and capture the real feel of this bustling city.
If you take this tour on a weekend, be prepared for a surprise at the Dragon Bridge at the end of the tour.
Expectations
Danang is a young and vibrant developing city. Dragon bridge is the pinnacle of such growth and no better place to start photographing. As the sun sets, the skyline begins to change, the city lights begin to flicker on. And the madness of rush hour traffic makes long-exposure photography a real pleasure and the results can be spectacular.
Fluctuations in natural light and streaks of moving light from vehicles will light up your shots. Your photographer guide will help you explore the camera settings and compositions that can be achieved during this extraordinary time of day.
Now that that chaos and evening traffic are in full swing well take a stroll capturing moving images and portraits in front of some very iconic buildings. And we’ll explore artificial light that can be manipulated and adapted through the camera and lens.
It all makes for a very exciting and enjoyable experience and you’ll come away with some great photos and knowledge to use in the future photography and evening explorations

Itinerary
5:00 pm:Â Hotel pick-up
5:15 pm:Â The tour begins at the Dragon Bridge. We will go over the tour focus and discuss camera basics, the 3-photo story and set up the cameras to be ready for the beginning of the tour. The focus of this tour is equally on long exposure photography with a tripod and low light street photography, both requiring quite different settings and a very different approach.
5:30 pm: We’ll go out and take photos of the sunset and the Dragon Bridge, before heading over the bridge to shoot pictures of the city and the rush hour traffic. Be prepared for some amazing views of the city skyline on one side and of a noisy and busy street on the other. We’ll take our time and focus on capturing the fast-moving action of the streets in the fading light, while also looking to capture the brightening city skyline at this time.
6:00 pm: By now we have walked over the Dragon Bridge and are strolling along the river past modern restaurants and bars, taking photos of the city lights and people living or travelling here. We’ll be visiting the pink Danang Cathedral and walking past the, now closed and quiet, Han Market on our way to the Danang City Hall, one of the most modern and architecturally interesting government buildings in Vietnam. The focus here is on the architecture and long-exposure photos of the traffic moving between the buildings.
6:45 pm: Making our way along the famous Le Duan shopping street and over the Han Bridge, we’re back across the river, where we give our attention to the evening playground fairs. Here the focus will be on street photography and working with the lights to capture local families enjoying kids’ activities.
7:15 pm:Â Dinner and drinks at a local food place. Try out authentic local food while sitting among locals. The food is not the only attraction as the place itself and surrounding area offer plenty of photo opportunities while you enjoy your drink after dinner.
8:00 pm: We’ll be heading back along the river towards the Dragon Bridge and closing the circular walk. On the way to the Dragon Bridge, we’ll see huge lit-up billboards, dark but colorful fishing boats and plenty of new coffee shops. We’ll also have time to visit a newly built pink church, that’s competing with the Danang Cathedral for attention, and we’ll have more opportunities for street photography at the Son Tra Night Market.
9:00 pm: Back at the Dragon Bridge and our starting point, we’ll take more photos of the lit-up bridge at night. On the weekends, you’ll enjoy a great fire and light show at the end of the tour.
9:15 pm:Â You can get a taxi back to the hotel or stay and enjoy the rest of your evening at the many cafes and bars around here.
