Following the announcement of a 11-day pilot resumption plan by the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Airlines first post commercial lockdown flight took off on the 10th of October from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
Outbound flights from Ho Chi Minh City include Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Hue, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Hai Phong, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Phu Quoc, Rach Gia and Gia Lai.
"I have been stuck in Hanoi after coming here on a business trip two months ago. As soon as I learnt that Hanoi - HCMC flights were about to resume, I was thrilled and booked a ticket immediately," said passenger Binh.
Before flying, passengers are required to submit a health declaration form and abide to Covid-19 safety and social distancing rules. Passengers bearing symptoms of cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, or sore throat, will not be allowed to board.
Additionally, passengers are required to submit a negative Covid-19 test certificate taken within 72 hours of boarding. Those without a certificate will be asked to undergo a rapid antigen test for VND 238,000 (USD $10.37).
Upon arrival, passengers are to avoid crowded places and self-quarantine in their own homes or other accommodation and monitor their health regularly for at least 7 days (based on local regulations). People arriving from pandemic hotspots must be tested on the second day after arrival.
