“Vietnamese bread – World culinary value” is the theme of the second Vietnamese Bread Festival taking place from May 17-19 at Le Van Tam Park, Hai Ba Trung Street (district 1), Ho Chi Minh City. The 2024 festival is expected to be larger in scale than last year, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors.
With the participation of 150 booths, accompanying dishes are displayed on giant bread models, promising to bring new experiences. At the festival, famous bread brands of over 50 years will gather.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, she shared that this year’s Festival will bring many new experiences and attractive spaces to serve the public when they come to visit the second Vietnamese Bread Festival. That’s why the space in the dragon-shaped welcome gate area is designed with bread materials from leading artisans to highlight the image of Vietnamese bread.
Additionally, there are spaces to experience the history of the formation and development of Vietnamese bread; The wheat-furrow space leads into the central stage with the windmill; a fairy garden space with animals made from bread, and folk games for children to visit and experience.
Here are displays of bread-making tools, images through the ages, the difference between past and present bread, and a wall of baking spices.
Vietnamese bread is ranked top 4 in the map of 60 types of bread in the world so they want to use this event to promote and bring Vietnamese bread to the top 1 in the world. This is also cherished by the organizers.
